Having fun in Taiwan

I remember it was in 2009 when Ritz and I decided to visit Taiwan. This was not a leisure trip but a business trip. Our agenda was to buy some clothes in Wufenpu (wholesale market in Taipei) and sell it here in Manila. We weren't expecting anything during our visit in Taiwan as it was not that popular destination yet for travelers.

However Taiwan brought about a lot of surprises, Taipei is really a vibrant and happy place. We love roaming in Ximeding even late at night. Shilin Market is also one of our favorite places in Taiwan, the food and stores there were amazing (hotstar chicken is a must try). Wufenpu is a a great place to shop, a lot of trendy and affordable clothes and accessories. However, there is a day where it is for wholesaler only. You cannot buy one piece, you have to buy in bulk.

It is also nice to visit Taipei 101, a bit expensive to visit the top floor but if you have spare money to throw then you can try it. I remember when we visited the top floor, it was so windy and cold that we immediately went back. If you are on a tight budget, you can just have your picture taken outside. And then, you can visit eslite bookstore. This is one of the largest retail bookstore chains in Taiwan.

My favorite place is the park near the national museum. It is situated besides the MRT station. We spent eating pancake and people watching there. The place is so relaxing and comforting.

As for the pasalubong, I remember buying a lot of big bottle yakult and different flavors of mochi. I also bought shoes in Ximending, these were so cheap that I bought at least 3 pairs of shoes.

Taiwan will always be one of my favorite countries to visit. I will definitely go back there.
