Tips for First Time Travellers

My family loves to travel, international or domestic. Every vacation,my mom has a plan like road trip to Pagudpud or Bicol, trip to Hong Kong, trip to Disney World and etc. My mom made sure that we enjoy our vacation. That is the reason why I love to travel. Since then, Julie and I have been traveling around Asia.
Here are the tips for first time travelers:
1. Do some research on the place/country that you want to go like what's in there, tourist spots, where to eat, what to do.
2. Know your budget. Start saving money. For us, we have a 52 week challenge.
3. If you're traveling internationally, call your banks and make sure that you can use your credit card or debit card. (for emergency use only)
4. Print your itinerary, photocopy your passport bio page/visa. Make sure that you have a copy on you check in luggages, carry on and at home. Now a days, take a picture of it and save it. For minors traveling alone or not traveling with parents or legal guardians, please secure your travel clearance with the DSWD.
5. When in the immigration, no taking pictures. I remember when we were in line for Korean immigration, someone was taking pictures of the place. When you are asked some questions by the immigration officer, be sure to answer clearly and politely. Answer what is only being asked.
5. Bring comfortable shoes/sneakers. Just pack comfortable clothes. Always check the weather.
6. In order to recognize your luggage in the carousel, tie it with a colorful ribbon. Also, use a TSA lock to secure your luggage. If the lock you used is not TSA and the security authorities cannot open it with their master key, then they will just break or cut your lock.
7. Bring adaptor. Different countries have different power socket.
8. Respect local cultures/customs. Follow their rules.
9. Don't be afraid to get lost. You can always ask the locals. Be friendly.
10. Pack a small medical kit such as painkillers, antihistamine, meds for upset stomach and bandaids.
